Hello Reader!

Wherever and however this finds you, we recognize your soul there!

***

Announcements:

*Remember, no morning service tomorrow, 7.20.25. See you next week on the 27th!!

*Keep in mind, our friends at Peak Community Church would be happy to have you attend their service at 9:00 at the building.

Welcome to a special at home liturgy for your Sunday:

a sabbath within a sabbath.

Commonplace At-Home Liturgy

For the Sunday we are apart...

To be prayed wherever you are: at a kitchen table, on a trail, in bed, with your loved ones, or alone

Wherever you are today, you are not alone.

Though our chairs are empty and the lights are off at the building, the Spirit is not bound by structures or schedules.

This sacred pause is part of our rhythm.

A Sabbath within a Sabbath.

A way to remember that we are not only a church that gathers, but a people being grown—together and apart.

Let this time be a space to breathe.

To remember.

To be nurtured by the loving wisdom of Jesus,

and to make room within yourself

for what is quietly, beautifully, becoming.

Scripture Reading — Matthew 13:31–32 (The Message)

“God’s kingdom is like a pine nut that a farmer plants. It is quite small as seeds go, but in the course of years it grows into a huge pine tree, and eagles build nests in it.”

Take a beat and read again slowly.

This is the promise:

Even the smallest acts of grace,

the quietest prayers,

the unnoticed moments of kindness

are part of a Kingdom that grows—

sometimes beneath the surface, sometimes without our seeing—

until it becomes shelter for many.

Mindfulness Practice: Root & Reach

You are invited to practice stillness, as you are able, wherever you are.

Step 1: Come to Quiet

Find a seated or standing position.

Take a few deep breaths.

Let your body soften, your thoughts slow, your chest become still.

Imagine the noise of the week falling away like leaves.

Step 2: Root

Feel the earth beneath your feet.

Imagine roots growing from you, deep into the ground.

Ask yourself gently:

What am I rooted in today? What is sustaining me? What needs tending?

Offer this quietly to God.

Step 3: Breath Prayer

Breathe in: “Your love is steadfast.”

Breathe out: “I am held in grace.”

Continue for several breaths.

Let each inhale be a receiving.

Let each exhale be a release.

Step 4: Reach

Open your eyes. Look around you.

Notice one thing growing—a plant, a person, even a crack in the sidewalk where life has found a way through.

Speak this aloud, or in your heart:

Even when apart, we are growing together.

Listen to this song

Reflection Questions (perhaps get out your journal and write down some responses):

•What is quietly growing in me these days?

•Where have I seen or offered shelter recently?

•What do I need to prune—or allow to be pruned—in order to flourish?

•Who might need space or encouragement to grow right now?

A Prayer

God of wild gardens and hidden growth,

thank you for the quiet, slow work of your Spirit.

Thank you for the ways we are being nurtured,

even in rest, even in scattering.

Make our lives spacious.

Make our love steady.

Make us into shelter for one another.

Amen.

Closing Blessing

May you be soil for kindness.

May your roots grow deep in Christ's love.

May what is harmful be gently named and tended.

May what is beautiful be nurtured into fullness.

And may you trust—

even in this quiet moment—

that the Kingdom is growing in you.

We’ll see each other soon.

Still want more?

Head over to our spiritual practices page and choose one to explore. Or, try listening to a sermon that resonated from this past year or watch an entire service on our youtube channel:

As always, remember this:

You are God’s Child

Gifted with dreams and visions.

Upon you rests the grace of God like flames of fire.

Love and serve the Lord in the wildness of your being.

Practice Resurrection.

And may the deep peace of Christ be with you,

The strong arms of God sustain you,

And the glory of the Holy Spirit shine upon your face.

Amen.
